History of Kaplan College, Dayton Campus

In 1970, 13 top professional photographers from the Midwest met in Dayton, Ohio, to explore the idea of a highly specialized and innovative photographic training center. This group formed the nucleus of the board of photographic advisors for a new school, Ohio Institute of Photography, that opened its doors in the winter of 1971. In 1991, the demand for trained individuals in additional fields outside photography prompted Ohio Institute of Photography to change its name to Ohio Institute of Photography and Technology (OIP&T). In November 2009, Ohio Institute of Photography and Technology became Kaplan College.
